Pesticides Frequency Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question

Are the chemicals safe for my children and pets?

Answer

All pesticides are designed to kill bugs and should be used with caution. It is our practice to use the least toxic options available to delete your pest problems.
Most of our newer pesticides target specific parts of the insect nervous system that mammals have few or none of. The newer technologies we use can therefore do a more effective job of controlling target pests while using less active ingredient than older generation insecticides. This reduces potential for harm to people and the environment. In addition, most of our newer chemistries are purposely designed with a shorter half-life. They do their job then quickly degrade into other harmless organic materials.
It is our policy and practice to only spray inside your home or business if there is a problem that requires it.

Question

How long should I wait before entering an area that has been sprayed?

Answer

You should stay off of sprayed surfaces until they are dry. Once dry the risk of dermal absorption is significantly reduced.
If you or a pet accidentally get wet spray on your skin, simply wash it off with soapy water.

Question

Do I need to empty the cabinets or do any other preparations like cover things up before a pest control visit?

Answer

No. If anything needs moved or covered, we will do that as part of our service.

Question

Why do I need ongoing service? Can I just call you when I have a problem?

Answer

A corrective visit always costs more and only has a 30-day guarantee. Whereas regular preventative visits cost less per visit and give you a full guarantee 365 days a year.
And corrective treatments usually require heavy use of pesticide inside. And inside treatments raise the issue of access and appointments.
For most of our customers it is cheaper and more convenient to have our guaranteed ongoing quarterly service.
Most pest problems come inside from out of the landscape. By visiting on a timely basis, we are very good at finding and deleting potential pest problems outside before they get in the home. Once the bugs get inside they are harder to delete and they not only cause inconvenience but they can also cause health risks.
